First off, I’m likely a heretic and an outlier on my take on social media. But I now use Facebook for two reasons.
- The first is it’s another distribution system – much like an email list.
- The second is it’s an advertising medium.
Note: Let me say that I’m not the most social of creatures. Yeah, I’m a typical introverted writer who prefers to sit and think or read a book or hang out with a small group of friends.
Social media is shallow and fast and almost everything I try to avoid in real life. So I am probably not the best case for how to effectively use social media.
The first post in this series is here. Why I Don’t Answer Gardening Questions On Facebook
The second post is here. Do You Know What Happens When You Comment On Facebook?
So then, if those two posts are at all accurate, give me a really good reason to use Facebook and why I’d want to increase the time I spend there.
I’m open to comments or suggestions about why I should change my mind or how you’d use Facebook if you were me.
